MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST/ADMINISTRATOR
North Coast Medical Centre is looking for a solid well-rounded person to run the front office of a busy Medical Centre based in Byron Bay. This Permanent part time position requires a switched-on multi-tasker, friendly, fun and adaptable. You’ll be working with a cohort of vibrant doctors and allied health professionals. Qualifications & experience
• Demonstrated recent administration experience with knowledge of procedures relating to telephone, reception, and customer service in a fast pace medical environment.
• Demonstrated competence in the use of computer software packages including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) with a willingness to acquire new skills as required.
• Demonstrated commitment and understanding of confidentiality
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a multidisciplinary team member.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills both oral and written, including the ability to relate maturely and professionally within a busy environment to patients and health care providers.
• Have a proven ability to problem solve, be flexible in your approach and use your initiative.
• Demonstrate a can-do attitude, be enthusiastic and genuinely have something positive to contribute to the team culture
• Ability to multitask - prioritising patient care
• Quick and competent computer proficiencies
• Best Practice Software experience an advantage
Tasks & responsibilities
• Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
• Appointment book management
• Scanning of patient information
• Processing health funds and Medicare (HICAPS)
• Patient billing including Medicare & DVA processing
• Reconciliation of daily takings
• Opening and closing of the Practice
• Other duties as required
The position is permanent part time 3 days a week.

TEACHING PRACTICE
Our Medical Centre is a teaching practice, we have visiting Medical Students that work alongside our doctors; patients will be advised that a student is sitting in on their consultation. North Coast Medical Centre (NCMC) is a growing practice offering a multitude of services. They have a highly skilled professional team of practitioners including six doctors, chronic health care nurse, immunisation nurse, and a wide range of allied helath professionals.
With a team approach NCMC can offer personalised care for a wide range of conditions. Each doctor has their own unique skill set - focusing on a variety of areas such as nutritional health, gynaecology, paediatrics, women’s health, addictions medicine, sports medicine and mental health and wellbeing.
