Making Appointments
At North Coast Medical Centre, we take our time for you. Because we believe in thorough, personalized care, our standard appointments are structured for 20 minutes to properly address your health needs.
When booking your appointment online via our website, by phone or the HotDoc app, please choose the length that best suits your needs:
One issue: Please book a 20-minute appointment.
Two or more issues / Complex matters: Please book a 40-minute appointment.
Please note: We are unable to accept appointment bookings via email.
A Note on Our Schedule
While we always endeavour to stay on time, please understand your doctor takes the time to ensure your medical care and may run late. To keep waiting times reduced, ensure you book appropriately.
New Patients
We always welcome new patients to our practice!
First visit: All new patients must book a face-to-face appointment for their initial consultation. We advise 30 minute consults, if it is a complex matter and a new doctor.
Complex matters: If you are seeing a new doctor for a complex issue, we advise booking a longer (40-minute) consultation.
Billing: Please note that all consultations for new patients are privately billed. Pension and Health Care Card concessions do not apply. Medicare rebates are available for eligible consultations.
What to Bring: Please complete your new patient registration form online before your appointment. On arrival, please present your photo ID, Medicare card, any current concession cards (Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, or DVA Card), and referral if necessary.
Results
Patients need to book a consultation to discuss results with the doctor to ensure quality care. Results are not given over the phone by the receptionist.
If your doctor needs to discuss a specific result with you; you will be informed by text to take an appointment. With the Hotdoc reminder system you will be asked to click through the text to a link and follow the directions. To protect your privacy, you will need to verify with your name and date of birth.
Telehealth Services
GP telehealth services are available if you have seen your regular GP (or another medical practitioner at this practice) at least once in the preceding 12 months.
Preventive Care & Chronic Health
We encourage our regular patients to take advantage of bulk-billed Chronic Health Plans or Preventative Health Assessments if you are eligible. Please attend review appointments when prompted by our team so we can proactively support your long-term health.
Need to Reschedule?
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please notify our practice at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer your appointment time to another patient in need and help you avoid a $50 cancellation fee.
